Uốn ván là một bệnh cấp tính gây bởi ngoại độc tố của vi khuẩn Clostridium tetani.[1] Đặc trưng của bệnh là biểu hiện co thắt cơ, cứng cơ, và rối loạn tự chủ.[2] Tình trạng co cứng thường bắt đầu ở hàm và cổ rồi lan ra toàn thân.[1]
Tác nhân
Uốn ván là bệnh trung gian độc tố do vi khuẩn Clostridium tetani gây ra.[3] C. tetani là trực khuẩn sinh bào tử, Gram dương, kỵ khí bắt buộc.[4]
